Walking the Line: My Couture Moments in Cannes

Hello, beloved!
Have you heard about the new dress code rules at the Cannes Film Festival this year? The organizers introduced a set of elegant restrictions that sparked quite a bit of conversation — no "naked" dresses, excessive transparency, plunging necklines, dramatic trains, or oversized bags. Only eveningwear. Only refined sophistication.
And for me, it became a game. A personal challenge: to find that delicate edge between what’s allowed and what’s daring. Where style flirts with boundaries, and restraint becomes a new kind of strength.
Each of my looks felt like a dance on the line.
In the soft, cloud-like white dress by Yanina Couture, I felt like I dissolved into air. It was one of those rare pieces where the dress is — and yet feels as if it isn’t. Light layers, sheer textures, weightless draping — everything hovering right on the edge of the rules, while remaining absolutely Cannes-appropriate and exquisitely graceful. I complemented the look with timeless jewelry by Damiani, adding quiet sparkle and refinement.
In the emerald gown by Eman Alajlan, I leaned into power and sculptural elegance. The layered skirt replaced the traditional train, creating fluid movement with a strong silhouette. The look was completed with radiant jewelry from Ghafari Jewelry, adding depth and a whisper of Eastern grace.
Of course, not every look was about pushing the limits. Some were simply about timeless elegance.
In the violet gown by Liulisi Paris, I embraced bold color and a sculpted silhouette with a deep neckline. A classic look — confident and clean — brought to life with luminous pieces from La Marquise Jewellery.
In the silver sequin gown by Mikael D, I quite literally sparkled. Every step caught the light, and the dense beading turned movement into radiance. Jewelry by Yeprem brought the ultimate finishing touch — bold, sculptural, and made to be seen.
Then came moments that felt bold, modern, and unmistakably me — a celebration of contrast and attitude.
In the short white dress by Roberto Cavalli, I stepped into something fresh and empowered. Structured shoulders, a confident mini cut, metallic heels — minimal and striking.
The crystal-covered mini by Philipp Plein brought full-throttle glam-rock energy. Paired with gloves and bold sunglasses, it was unapologetic, rebellious, and made for the spotlight.
In the sculptural gown by The Atelier London, I found elegance with a strong architectural line. The asymmetrical neckline and pleated volume gave the look structure and air. I paired it with delicate jewelry from Daverio1933 and sunglasses from Thierry Lasry, adding a cinematic finish.
Each outfit this season told its own story — some refined, some fierce — but all a celebration of presence, confidence, and self-expression.
Cannes this year reminded me: rules can guide you — but style is how you walk the line.
With love from the Riviera,
Sasha 💋
